Afghanistan Campaign Gurkha Khukuri - 6'' Blade - Ex Gurkha Khukuri House
The 6 Blade Gurkha Afghanistan Campaign Khukuri has a 5160 high carbon steel blade; the blade was tempered to have a very hard, dull-resistant edge of 58-60 HRC, a mid-section of 45-46 HRC and a softer, shock resistant spine of 22-25 HRC. The guard is of steel and the thick tang is surmounted by two rosewood halves robustly riveted to the tang for a grip. The tang is allowed to flare past the grip to allow for a hole-punched lanyard plate.
This Kukri comes with the traditional pair of utility knives; the Karda cutting knife and the Chakmak Khukuri sharpening tool.
The Khukuri and its accessory knives fit within a sheath crafted from pinewood assembled with traditional Laha glue and finished with a protective outer layer of water buffalo leather. It has an integrated belt loop of hardened water buffalo leather.
This Khukuri is one of the current issue blades used by Gurkhas whilst serving in Afghanistan. They can opt for this smaller Kukri or the larger version of this fighting knife.

EGKH, based in Nepal, manufactures high quality kukris (or Khukuris) and other fighting knives. As the official supplier of kukris to the British Gurkha Unit, Marine Corps, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Indian Gurkhas, EGKH is well versed in providing a good blade. All products are hand forged from high grade carbon steel.

Beware, the blades measure 8 inches rather than 6 inches. Much larger than originally anticipated.
5 stars, the sheath is BEAUTIFUL and tight and the wood on the accessory knives and main knife are excellent and smell of cinnamon. Dude above is wrong, blade measures exactly 6”. Came packaged amazingly, tightly wrapped in paper and softer plastic then again in large amounts of thicker packing paper. KOA has done me perfectly with my Hanwei War Sword and everything else I have ordered!
My last review had been removed, but I’ll repost. 1 star review, it is an extremely warped blade and the edge rolls to the left. The sanding on the grip is sharp and uneven, the grind on the guard and pommel are uneven and black slag is still left over. Worst finish on a blade I’ve ever seen. Asked for an exchange and got no answer.
