Inspired by the fantasy novel ”The Waylander” this blade is based on arming swords of the 14th century. Here, a wheel pommel typical of older medieval swords has been combined with the curved guard of later swords with a subtle flair of claw-like crossguard edges introduced. The blade tapers to make the sword excellent for thrusting, but keeps enough width to deliver the mass for strong slices – a good cut-and-thrust sword. Darksword has made a blade that would have looked at home in the hand of anti-hero Waylander.

The blade is of 1060 high carbon steel tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 53. The blade is fitted through a steel guard and pommel and is peened for strength. The grip is wood and tightly wrapped and stitched over with brown leather. Includes a wood-core scabbard covered in form-fitting brown leather.

Very Nice! This sword is very well made. It is hard to believe you can get a handmade sword like this with Scabbard, for this money. When I first put hands on it it blew me away the balance is perfect I mean perfect could not get any better. after owning it for awhile there is no denying the functionality of this sword. That being said some things you should know. These are hand made unlike Albion. So you will see hammer marks and a scuff here and there, but the blade is strong and straight. The Scabbard is loose. Well mine is yours may very. The Scabbard while loose fitting is high quality. There is a gap where the cross guard meets the blade, but all is tight with zero rattle. Over all I am impressed with this sword and would recommend it all day long.
