Overview
Darksword Armory - Sword of Feanor with Scent-Stopper Type Pommel and Integrated Sword Belt
Darkswords Sword of Feanor is a leaf-bladed fantasy longsword that is made to functional and battle-ready standards. The blade is forged from 5160 high carbon steel which has a finished HRc 60 temper on its edges and a 48-50 HRc hardness at its core. The crossguard and pommel are mild steel and the wood grip is finished with a tight wrap of leather.
The sword is paired with a wooden scabbard which is bound in leather and completed with a simple leather sword belt and a protective steel chape.
Leaf bladed swords not only give a medieval-era sword a fantasy-like appearance, but they also put extra blade mass in the main striking region. While this does add weight to the tip, the increased mass also gives the blade a stronger bite when it strikes. This added weight necessarily adds weight in the tip and usually makes the sword feel heavier but Darkswords Sword of Fnor adequately counter-balances this with a well-tapered blade and elongated grip and pommel - this keeps this battle-ready fantasy longsword responsive and lends it notable agility for a long, leaf-bladed sword.

The blade is 5160 high carbon steel, tempered to about HRc 60 at the edges with a 48–50 HRc core.
Q Is the sword functional for cutting or reenactment? Common Question
It is a battle-ready fantasy longsword. The listing is supplied unsharpened; suitability for cutting depends on sharpening and local event rules.
Q How does it handle given the leaf blade? Common Question
The leaf profile adds mass near the striking zone, but the tapered blade, elongated grip, and scent-stopper pommel counterbalance to keep it responsive for a long leaf-bladed sword.
Q What are the hilt materials and construction? Common Question
Guard and pommel are mild steel; the wood grip is leather-wrapped. The pommel is peened.
