Dragon King – Shi Katana

Shi; Death. This most ominous of Katana is wholly devoted to the nature of the finality; the ending of life as heralded from the last wind of the blade heard in the duel. A black katana adorned with skulls - to the beholder is the katana mocking the foe? Or death itself? Or is it the focused resignation and acceptance of the true purpose of the blade and the swordsmans harvest before his own end? In any case, one would be wise to dwell upon his actions before challenging a warrior who bore this most grim of blades.

The Shi Katanas blade is forged from T10 high carbon steel and its blade is differentially-tempered in the traditional manner which has left a spirited hamon upon the blades edge. Forged with a solid spine, this wide-bladed katana will cut with great and decisive power in calm and skillful hands. The habaki and seppa mountings are silvered.

The tsuba, artfully fashioned into a leering skull, is of blackened stainless steel with a single tooth picked out in silver. The reverse of this tsuba features a stern Samurai in the moment of his strike. The matched fuchi and kashira are likewise crafted in blackened stainless steel. The wooden tsuka grip is well-wrapped in a ebon tsuka ito cord with inlaid panels of blackened rayskin and silvered skull menuki beneath.

The Saya scabbard of fitted wood is coated in flat and textured black lacquer. Its fittings are polished buffalo horn and the sageo is black and gold cord. A cloth sword bag is included.
