Hand-Hammered Buckler - 16 Gauge Steel - Lord of Battles
This 16 Gauge steel buckler is given an antiqued and hammered appearance to give it a forged or campaign-worn appearance. An iron grip with two halves of pinned wood finish the hand grip.
Though a buckler seems small it succeeds by denying entire angles of attack to your opponent, particularly when it is held outward with the arm extended. It can quickly move into position to block, deflect or absorb the force of an incoming attack. Being entirely metal they are quite durable and lack the weak points of wood by which larger wood-body shields can be split or punctured.
Easily portable, the buckler is ideal for archers, skirmishers and light troops who can discard their primary armament for a buckler and a sidearm when needed. They are also ideal for travelers or personal defense due to their ease of portability in situations when lugging a full size shield for the battlefield is both impractical and tiring.

This buckler is of excellent quality in all ways! The steel is sturdy and yet light enough to use without undue fatigue, and the grip is comfortable and fits well in the hand. It even has a nice ringing sound it makes when struck that makes for added dramatic effect in swordplay. KoA delivered on time as they stated in the description, and they protected this buckler with a light coat of oil to prevent rust.

Sturdy enough for buhurt, light enough for hema. If you’re looking for a nicer buckler to replace your cold steel plastic one, this is it. Especially if you’re looking for one that fits heavy longsword gloves.
