Albion Talhoffer Bastard Sword with Half-Wire Grip
This option replaces the standard waisted grip of the Talhoffer sword with a tapered cylindrical grip.
Hans Talhoffer was a fencing-master in southern Germany in the 15th century. He is the author several Fechtbher, illustrated treatises describing methods of fighting with various weapons, including unarmed combat (grappling), dagger, long sword, pole weapons and mounted combat. He is a contemporary of fencing-master Paulus Kal (whose manuscript may contain hints of professional rivalry between the two). Talhoffer taught within the tradition of Johannes Liechtenauer.
Albion's Talhoffer Bastard sword features a sharpened high carbon steel blade heat-treated to a fine temper in the Albion Forge Shop. The grip is of stabilized birch, wrapped with cord and covered with the highest grade vegetable-tanned calfskin. The guard and pommel are solid steel.
