Musashi - Shirakawa Red Ryu Katana

The Musashi Shirakawa Ryu Katana is part of Musashis Silver Collection; The blade is crafted from 1060 high carbon steel that was clay tempered in the traditional process. The tsuba is iron and the fuchi and kashira hilt fittings are antiqued and darkened brass. The seppa and habaki are crafted from brass.
The wooden tsuka grip is inlaid with genuine rayskin panels and is overlaid in black cotton ito cord; a pair of brass menuki are placed beneath the tightly knotted folds. The sword is paired with a wooden saya scabbard with a glossy finish of burgundy lacquer - it is finished with a black cotton sageo cord.
A cloth sword bag and a manufacturers certificate are included.

Often paired together
I have owned this sword for about two years now. I use it for water bottle cutting, but not just any bottles. I cut very delicately balanced bottles, heavy soap jugs, and even tiny hard-to-cut bottles. This sword performs better than anything else in my collection. It is easy to make VERY sharp, and it has shown zero signs of wear. All the fittings are nice and tight. For the price, there’s no way you could do better.
