Hanwei - Tactical Tanto
A classic blade style with modern construction, it doesn't get any better than this!
Based on the blade geometry and superb cutting ability of the Paul Chen Raptor series tanto but with full tang construction for ultimate blade strength. The 5160 high-carbon spring steel blade and the checkered Kraton handle provides a sure foul-weather grip. The fiberglass scabbard construction avoids water absorption and reduces carrying weight, while several lanyard holes and the included ParaCord provide carrying and backpack attachment options.

Master sword smith Paul Chen created Hanwei Swords and led the early industry by creating authentic handmade swords of the highest grade steel over the last several decades. A favorite amongst the industry, the original Hanwei factory suffered from a fire and ownership changes. In 2025, the factory closed and original collaborator Frenchie Jin’s forge (Dragon King / Kingston Arms) has taken over, improving and reintroducing past models. The reinvented Hanwei focuses primarily on Japanese and Chinese models, including the Performance Series Katana. Many of the original European models are now adopted as part of the Kingston Arms line.

Cool blade–I really like it. Might have to get the wakizashi as well. Excellent handling and a great cutter even though it is a stabby design. Nimble handling; grip is squared-off design but very comfortable and secure in the hand. I like the sheath as well.
Kind of expensive for a short blade, but I feel it’s worth it. I have similar other designs in American tanto style and I like this better.
