Regenyei - Talhoffer Longsword
"Simple, agile and elegant" - these are the words Regenyei uses to describe their Talhoffer longsword and when you hold one in your hands you realize their words strike true. Its design is based on historical Type XVa longswords from the 14th and 15th century which are an excellent representative of the earlier German longsword traditions as seen in Liechtenauer, Danzig and Talhoffer's works. The sword is built for sport and stage combat with a rounded tip and thick, blunted edges. The blade is of 51CrV4 High Carbon Spring Steel with a tempered hardness of 49-51 HRc. The blade is stiff and intended for historically accurate technical practice, heavy drilling and light and well-controlled sparring which is utilizing proper edge alignment.
The blade is secured into the hilt with a tightly peen of the tang to the pommel and the hardwood grip is bound in a ribbed leather grip designed for a sure grip. The crossguard and pommel are of tempered steel.

This is an absolutely beautiful sword. Regenyei’s Talhoffer is nimble and well-balanced in the hand, and mine has proven itself to be ideal for solo study and paired practice of historical longsword techniques.
