Condor Messer Sword
The German Messer by Condor is a particularly robust and durably crafted example of this type of sword and the often full-tang construction of a Messer lends itself well to Condor's production techniques and expertise. The blade is crafted from 1075 high carbon steel which was well-tempered in Condor's state-of-the-art tempering ovens. The blade spine is thick and durable and the tip has a chisel-form cross section which reinforces the tip for thrusting. The tang is wide and thick and capable of withstanding some serious use. For a full tang construction its grip slabs of polished hickory and walnut were riveted directly to the blade tang.
Included with the Messer sword is a wood core scabbard which is wrapped in leather and completed with a steel tip and chape.

Condor Tool and Knife was founded in 1964 when the German Solingen-based company GEBR Weyesberg Co. expanded its operations. GEBR Weyesberg Co. was founded in 1787 and became one of the world’s largest manufacturers of knives and swords. When they founded Condor Tool & Knife they shipped state-of-the-art german manufacturing equipment to the new company and sent skilled employees to train the new workforce to make high quality and well-standardized knives, tools, and swords. Local El Salvadorean investors purchased Condor in the 1980s and it continues to run today operating 24/7 to fulfill worldwide demand.

this is the most durable sword I have purchased. the handleing is so so its chunky and need mutch strength to wield in anything but a hammer grip. but as a backyard chopper it will never break I chopped blocks of ice and 2by4s and dead trees and it was still sharp enough to cut pool noodle like butter.
