Regenyei - Venesia Sidesword Trainer
This is the Trainer (Full Contact) version of Regenyei Armory's Venesia Sidesword; its blunt edged blade is substantially thicker than the standard version that is built for intensive and sustained and longer use-life than is standard. Regenyei states that the trainer version is suitable for everyday use, tournaments and full-speed sparring. The Venesia has the most complex hilt of their Sidesword offerings which is paired with a double-fullered blade. It has a rolled (back folded) tip to make it safer for sparring and tournaments. The blunt edged blade is 51CrV4 Spring Steel with a tempered hardness of 49-51 HRc and it is quite thick at the ricasso with a substantial amount of distal taper to give it good overall weight, balance and handling characteristics.
The hilt is made from steel with an antiqued finish and the blade is sturdily mounted into the hilt with a peen over the pommel for a lasting construction.
