Dragon King is responding to popular demand for a bo-hi version of the Modern Katana and are now pleased to make it available here! All the quality modern materials and skilled craftsmanship of the original Modern Series Katana make a return here, with the addition of a weight-reducing bo-hi groove to give it even more favorable handling characteristics set among a sleek Dragon motif for a tasteful nod to tradition.
The Modern Katana offers a fresh take on the iconic Samurai weapon and reimagines it for the present day. Crafted with cutting-edge materials this katana is sleek on its styling and unfussy on the maintenance. Its unassuming design hides a core of remarkable durability and power just like its traditional predecessors.
The bladeis forged from differentially-tempered 1566 steel which with a fine finishing polish showcases an authentic hamon line. This is complemented by a copper habaki and seppa and grip is tough and resilient G10 composite which encases the tang and is double-pinned for a firm, reliable construction. Embedded in the handle are silver dragon menuki. The textured black saya is accented with an olive paracord sageo, tied around a polymer kurikata and kojiri. This Katana can be paired with the Modern Tanto with bohi (sold separately) to complete a cohesive, modern warrior set.
