A full-length katana tang runs into a wooden tsuka carved to match the tang's profile and the 9 7/8" grip is wrapped in faux leather ito cord to ensure a secure hold during cutting practice. Beneath the ito grip folds are panels of genuine red-dyed rayskin. The tsuba and all hilt fittings are crafted from solid metal with a lacquered finish, giving the sword substantial durability and an upgraded feel over the plastic furniture typically found on budget-tier anime replicas.
