Overview
Everest Forge - Egyptian Khopesh
Please Note: It is common and standard for these handcrafted and hand-hammered swords to have to have wavy edges or blade spines, evidence of hammer blows and a higher degree of general asymmetry than what is our common standard. They are still functional and can cut well despite this asymmetry.
This Egyptian Khopesh Sword from Everest Forge recreates of one of ancient Egypt’s most iconic weapons in a form that is ideal for collectors who enjoy backyard target cutting. This version blends classical design with practical function delivering a weapon that honors tradition while offering real-world usability. Weighing just over 2 lbs with a point of balance about 4.5 inches ahead of the guard, the sword carries enough forward weight for effective slicing and chopping motions yet remains balanced enough for controlled handling while having a level of heft and authoritative feel in the hand.
The 20-inch curved blade replicates the distinctive sickle-like profile of the Khopesh — broad near the guard, sweeping outward and then curving inward toward the tip — a geometry well known for delivering powerful sweeping cuts, slashes, and chopping strikes. Forged from quality high-carbon steel, the blade is tempered for durability and equipped with a well-defined, sharp cutting edge and a sturdy spine to withstand impact and repeated use.
A full-tang construction anchors the blade into a 6-inch hardwood grip, shaped to offer a secure, comfortable hold. The grip and tang assembly are reinforced by solid metal fittings at the guard and pommel, ensuring stability under heavy use and giving the sword a substantial, trustworthy feel in hand. The modest point of balance ensures the weapon carries enough momentum to make powerful cuts, chops and hacks. Included is a thick leather sheath with buttoned retaining straps.

The Maker
Everest Forge
At Everest Forge, craftsmanship is not just a skill — it’s a tradition carried forward by generations of blacksmiths. Every sword, kukri , machete, or knife we produce is hand-forged with meticulous care, using age-old techniques that ensure strength, precision, and beauty. We don’t just shape steel — we forge legacy.
Our forging process begins with the soul of our blades — 5160 high carbon leaf spring steel. Revered for its durability, resilience, and edge retention, this steel allows us to produce blades that are tough enough for field use, yet elegant enough to be admired.
Each blade is shaped through fire, hammer, and muscle — not machines. Our smiths rely on intuition and experience, guided by heat and rhythm, to form every curve, taper, and bevel. This isn’t factory production. This is craftsmanship forged in fire. We operate as a Forging House , not a factory. That means every craftsman at Everest Forge is invested in the outcome of every single piece. It’s not about mass production — it’s about legacy, integrity, and honor in every blade.
