Unlike lighter variants within the series, the Elite features a solid blade with no bo-hi groove, allowing for greater blade mass and enhanced momentum through the cut. Forged from durable 1566 high carbon steel, the blade measures 39 5/8″ overall and is differentially-hardened to combine a hard cutting edge with a tougher, more resilient spine. This traditional heat treatment method helps maintain edge retention while improving shock resistance during repetitive cutting practice. The shinogi-zukuri blade geometry balances cutting efficiency with structural strength, giving the sword the versatility needed for a broad range of cutting applications.
