Kingston Arms – Rhinelander Bastard Sword

The Kingston Arms Rhinelander Bastard Sword revives a classic Hanwei design with newly refined proportions and improved balance for a capable combination of cutting power and thrusting performance. Inspired by late 15th-century Central European cut-and-thrust swords, its long, deeply fullered blade and distinctive scent-stopper pommel give it a classic historical profile suited to both display and practical cutting. In the hand it is balanced and responsive and transitions easily from the cut to the thrust and back again.

The 36-inch blade is forged from 5160 high-carbon steel and hardened to 54 HRC, offering a balance of edge retention and shock absobing resilience. A deep, ridged fuller reduces weight while preserving the blade's structural integrity, contributing to its responsive handling. The stainless steel hilt features a ring guard and a smoothly finished, peened scent-stopper pommel. Its 7-inch leather-wrapped grip tapers comfortably in the hand, providing a secure hold for both one-handed and two-handed use. The blade tang is securely peened over the pommel for a durable assembly, and a wood-core scabbard covered in leather is included.
