BattleBlades – Gokudo Aikuchi – Blemished Grade

Combining the clean aesthetic beauty of Japanese blade art with absolute performance; is the impressive new Gokudo Aikuchi from BattleBlades - a compact one handed shirasaya short sword. From sketching to forging, creating this weapon was a time consuming task; BattleBlades wanted to forge a perfectly balanced edged weapon with fierce cutting power and flawless wielding, Sori (the curve of the blade), a wide motohaba and an extensive kissaki were carefully contemplated in order to achieve their goal of creating a gorgeous and unique blend full of culture. In skilled hands the Gokudo Aikuchi as beautiful and elegant as it is capable.

The fully hand forged blade is hazuya-polished and sharpened and is crafted from strong and proven T10 high carbon steel steel. An appealing shinogi line with extra long kissaki are highlights of the blade geometry and the blade has a genuine clay tempered hamon. The black lacquered samegava rayskin is overlaid over a hardwood tsuka and is embellished with custom made silver menuki on both sides of the handle. A custom made and meticulously fitted copper habaki completes the sword for an an impressive finishing appearance.

The well crafted hardwood saya featuress uniquely shaped real buffalo horn kojiri and real buffalo horn kurikata and koikuchi. Beneath a premium grade silk sageo the saya is completed with inlaid panels of samegava rayskin which is lacquered in all black to give an outstandingly stylish look for the sword when sheathed. The Gokudo Aikuchi samurai sword comes with an embroidered BattleBlades Inc. silk sword bag and a serial numbered certificate of authenticity.
