Claymores

weapons collection

By the late 15th and early 16th centuries, the great warsword evolved into a new form in the Scottish Highlands. This era marked the emergence of the iconic Scottish Claymore, a symbol forever linked to the indomitable spirit of Highland warriors. Grave slabs from the western Highlands depict the Claymore’s distinctive features from its inception: a blade with minimal taper, a long grip, and a sloping guard adorned with quatrefoil decorations.
