CAS introduces the APOC Fallout Series, a dynamic collection of knives and survival tools crafted by designer Jason Breeden. Blending Japanese-inspired aesthetics with rugged apocalyptic functionality, this series redefines versatility and durability in survival gear.

Blade and Construction

The Fallout Series features blades forged from D2 and 1075 steel, finished in a striking two-tone design which is tempered to hardness of 50 HRc at the edge and 42 HRc at the spine. The full-tang construction, paired with pierced black canvas Micarta handle scales and vibrant APOC Red G10 liners, ensures a superior, comfortable grip. The handle design echoes the traditional tsuka-ito of a katana, while the textured red G10 liners mimic dyed same (rayskin), merging cultural elegance with modern utility.

Breeden Derecho: A Versatile Hybrid

The standout of the series, the Breeden Derecho, blurs the line between sword and machete. With an 18.25-inch blade and 5.5mm thick full-tang construction, it weighs approximately 2 pounds, offering a balance of heft for chopping, slicing, and hacking, while remaining light enough to prevent user fatigue. Its atypical reinforced tip excels in thrusting through dense targets, making it ideal for demanding tasks. The Derecho supports both single- and two-handed use, enhanced by a lanyard hole for added security.

Handle and Sheath Design

The pierced black canvas Micarta handle provides exceptional comfort and a secure grip, with smooth blade spines and liners for seamless handling. The accompanying scabbard features a Molle-compatible Kydex locket platform with a fiberglass shaft, ensuring secure and adaptable carry options. The overlapping sheath designs allow the Fallout Series tools to be paired like a traditional daisho, offering flexible combinations for users.
