Castille Armory – Economy Clamshell Rapier – 40″ Blade

With all of the HEMA and sport rapier offerings out there these days, this one really delivers. Like all of Castille Armory’s sword products, these are cut, ground and assembled in their own little plant in Southern Oregon. The blade is made from Castille’s proprietary specialty 5160 blue temper steel for our Economy Rapier Blade from mills here in the U.S. Castille get certs for all of our material to ensure the only the best materials are being used. Castille’s economy-tier offerings of attractively priced but highly functional HEMA and Sport Fencing swords come from their innovative developments which allowed them to cut manufacturing costs while maintaining the quality everyone expects from Castille Armory’s Made in the USA products.

These 40″ blunted and flexible rapier blades are offered in the popular F3 blade flex which has become the universal standard for both SCA and HEMA combat. The guard is a full and strongly welded clamshell style build with ample hand protection, straight quillons and a stout knuckle bow. The grip is tough and “grippy” PLA and its all held together with a threaded ball pommel. The sword is easy to dismantle on the take down so that components can be readily swapped and replaced.

Castille has not only hit their mark to deliver a fantastic and fairly priced HEMA / Sport Rapier – they have developed a new standard in the industry. Flex (F3)- Medium heavy stiffness, compliant to SCA Rapier and Cut & Thrust calibration. 1″ – 1.5″ drop @ 6 oz. (170 gr.). Recommended flex for SCA Rapier and Cut & Thrust dual duty, WMA and HEMA armored combat. 

We offer a limited warranty* on all Castille Armory sword hilts, pommels and some handles for any reason that would cause the product not to pass regulation inspection within the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), HEMA, and WMA groups.  All Castille Armory combat blades are warrantied* for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase for any reason that would cause the blade to not pass regulation inspection within the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism), HEMA, and WMA groups.
