Castille Armory – Economy Longsword
The Economy Long Sword from Castille Armory is a fantastically nimble and agile HEMA optimized sword that can move fast and in sync with the mind of the duelist; its a great pick for younger or smaller fighters who may prefer a light sword or the experienced duellist who wants a lightning fast sword with fantastic bind capability. The well tempered 36" blade has the Castille F3 flex level (see below) which terminates in a spatulated tip that can be paired with a rubber blunt (sold separately). Proudly made in the USA, Castille Armory's blades are crafted entirely in-house at their Southern Oregon workshop, where each blade is cut, ground, and assembled by their experienced team. Constructed from Castille's proprietary blue-tempered 5160 spring steel sourced from American mills, every blade is produced using certified materials to ensure exceptional quality and consistency.

Designed for HEMA and sport fencing practitioners seeking an affordable yet dependable training weapon, these blades retain the durability, handling characteristics, and craftsmanship that have made Castille Armory a respected name among American sword makers.
The 10" wide guard is eminently practical and it is paired with a pear shaped pommel designed specifically for this sword in order to give it an exactingly sized and weighted balance and a comfortable handhold for techniques involving a grip on the pommel. The 8 inch grip is crafted from PLA is extraordinarily durable and has a tactile surface to ensure a good grip. Like all Castille economy series swords it can be disassembled as needed for transport or replacement of components.
Flex (F3)- Medium heavy stiffness, compliant to SCA Rapier and Cut & Thrust calibration. 1″ – 1.5″ drop @ 6 oz. (170 gr.). Recommended flex for SCA Rapier and Cut & Thrust dual duty, WMA and HEMA armored combat.
We offer a limited warranty* on all Castille Armory sword hilts, pommels and some handles for any reason that would cause the product not to pass regulation inspection within the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), HEMA, and WMA groups. All Castille Armory combat blades are warrantied* for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase for any reason that would cause the blade to not pass regulation inspection within the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism), HEMA, and WMA groups.

The Maker
Castille Armory
In 2013 Sam Kovic decided to jump in head first and take his love for the art of defense to a higher level. Zenergy Metal Works, LLC was founded and Castille Armory was brought to life.
What started off as a garage-based hobby turned into a full-fledged business in 2013 with the rental of a small shop in Central Point, Oregon. Castille quickly outgrew that 2000 sq ft space and moved to a larger shop in Medford, and then we outgrew that building and started renting the one next door, and a few years later the one next door to that! Finally in 2018 we made the jump to a much larger shop in Phoenix, Oregon where we all live happily under one roof.
Since 2013, Castille Armory has entered the international arena and orders have far surpassed the output of a hobby shop. Sam has had to pass on his knowledge and techniques to his crew, a band of talented individuals who share the deep love for all things swords. This personal passion keeps Castille Armory moving forward. Because quality and attention to detail are everything in a niche market, everyone who works at Castille Armory also fences—mostly because we love to—but it’s that hands-on approach that means we designed your sword as if it were our own. If it’s not good enough for us to use in tournament, it’s not good enough for you.
