This Devils Edge fighting dagger melds the powerful cutting blade of the Khukuri with the size and practical grip of a Bowie Knife. The sharpened and tempered high carbon steel blade brings excellent chopping and slashing capabilities which are powered by a thick spine coupled with a wedge-like cross-section which adeptly chops into and splits a target. The sharp and acutely-tapered tip makes it a surprisingly good thrusting weapon; the tip will pierce into a target and the wide blade following it will rapidly widen a puncture.

The pakkawood and brass grip is comfortable for a variety of hand sizes the the hook-like extensions on the brass bolster and pommel cap serve two purposes; the forward one prevents the hand from sliding onto the blade in a strike, the rear one functions well as a pivot point to couch the back of the back of the hand against when making a powerful cut.

This fighting dagger is paired with a durable leather sheath completed with a set of buttoned retaining straps and a belt loop.

I didn’t know what to expect, but I was actually very pleased with it and has been my favorite thing so far. It is an excellent price and is a great size and shape. I just got it and haven’t put it through use yet, but it’s just as thick as the devil’s edge kopis and probably will hold up well. However, it doesn’t feel as heavy as it is. It feels perfectly balanced. The handle is also perfect, it’s thick but fits the hand just right. This is something I could see myself buying again in the future.

A few minor issues. The blade came slightly dirty with some sort of residue, but it can be cleaned off. The sheath belt loop is a little too big, so it kind of hangs down which I’m not a fan of. It’s secure, but it jostles around. Lastly, you need to remember to take the blade out of the sheath in a way that avoids cutting the securing strap by the handle. I think this is why there is a second strap further down the sheath, so it can be pulled out at an angle. I really like these straps because the blade is really secure, just be mindful when drawing it.

An update to my previous review after a few months. It has a massive flaw, in that it rusts easily and constantly. The rust it had on arrival was not a fluke. I’ve tried oiling it often, however it’s never enough to keep the rust off. In its defense, I live in a humid environment, but no I have no other blade that rusts like this. I even have the devil’s edge kopis which has had zero rust. It’s seems to be some issue with how this blade was made. It’s a shame, since I really liked a lot of other stuff about it.
