Dragon King – Kinryu Katana #1 – Blemished Grade

The artisans at Dragon King under the direction of founder Frenchie Jin showcase their skill and artistry in the premium folded steel Kinryu Katana with a folded blade of T10 and 9260 steels which is embellished with a masterfully etched and finely rendered dragon Horimono on the blade. The folded steel is polished to a very high level so as to bring out the full folded beauty of the melded steel layers and its clay tempered hamon of hardened steel. With a wide blade and solid geometry with no groove, the Kinryu preserves blade mass to ensure it strikes with optimized cutting power for a ferocious strike.

The wood tsuka is tightly bound in brown silk over black dyed same rayskin and emblazoned with inset menuki. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are of iron and set against silver seppa and a brass habaki. The expertly crafted saya scabbard of wood is painstakingly lacquered in a smooth gold metallic hue and glossy black lacquered rattan. Its koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are of real buffalo horn and a knotted sageo of brown silk completes the katana. A cloth sword bag for storage and transport is included.
