Dragon King – Ogami Itto Katana – Lone Wolf and Cub – Blemished Grade

The sword of Ogami Itto of the Lone Wolf and Cub films has been reproduced here by Dragon Kings by its Founder, Frenchie Jian, who was greatly inspired by the films which first kindled his interest in swords. In homage to his hero, Ogami Itto, he has had his heavy-cutting Dotanuki blade katana reproduced.

Fully functional, this distinctive katana has a differentially-tempered blade of high carbon steel with a hard, 60 HRc hardness edge and a strong and shock-absorbing body of 40 HRc. It is fitted into a hilt with Ogami Ittos characteristic abalone shell tsuba which is crafted from stainless steel with an antiqued finish. The well-polished fuchi and kashira have a silvered finish with etched Japanese dogwood blossoms .The hardwood grip was inlaid with rayskin before it was tightly bound with black cotton tsuka ito wrap and silvered dragon menuki are fitted beneath the folds.

The saya scabbard for this katana is quite unique with its black ribbed texture coupled with a silvered kojiri. The koiguchi and kurikata are carved and finely polished buffalo horn. A slot in the scabbard accommodates the Kozuka knife which has a steel blade and a silvered grip with Japanese Dogwood blossom etching to match the scabbard and sword. A well-knotted black sageo cord completes the scabbard. Included with the sword is a cloth sword bag.

Please Note: It is common for the underside of the Kozuka grip to have scratches on its polished surface from sheathing and unsheathing the blade against the scabbard.
