Hand Forged Celtic Spearhead - Lord of Battles
This Celtic Iron Age Spearhead is hand-forged from steel and is ready to be mounted onto your own pole.
Many weapons of the Iron Age borrowed some of their elemental form from bronze weapons which iron weapons co-existed with for some time before making bronze obsolete. In the case of this spearhead the large and prominent central ridge was a necessary feature for a bronze weapon to stiffen it as much as possible to prevent the softer metal from bending. In the case of an iron weapon this type of central ridge design may be borrowed from a traditional bronze spearhead design and though it is not necessary to make a fine weapon it does help to make it more rigid to increase its penetrative power.
The socket opening is approximately 1 1/8 (28 mm)

This spearhead is VERY good for the price! It is quite large and the socket diameter is perfect for thicker shafts. I cannot attest to the type of carbon steel that it is made of, but it seems to be well tempered. Overall I recommend this for those looking for an attractive, functional representation of an early iron age Celtic spearhead.
Very nice spear,a little rough but perfectly fine considering it’s iron age,the one thing to be aware of is it’s not sharpened,like not sharpened at all so unless you have an electric sharpener like I do and you want this actually battle ready it’s gonna be a lot of work.
