Hanwei Mokko Renshu Katana
The Mokko Renshu Katana has a through-hardened blade of 5160 high carbon steel made in the Shinogi Zukuri style. Hanweis Renshu line of swords are designed to be economical and practical cutting katanas. The tsuba is of iron and the fuchi and kashira fittings are of blackened metal. The habaki and seppa are of brass. The tsuka grip is overlaid with faux rayskin and fitted over with knotted black suede leather tsuka ito grip wrap. A pair of brass menuki are fitted between the ito and the tsuka.
The wooden tsuka is finished with a textured Ishime style black lacquer. It has an unknotted sageo of red cord.

Master sword smith Paul Chen created Hanwei Swords and led the early industry by creating authentic handmade swords of the highest grade steel over the last several decades. A favorite amongst the industry, the original Hanwei factory suffered from a fire and ownership changes. In 2025, the factory closed and original collaborator Frenchie Jin’s forge (Dragon King / Kingston Arms) has taken over, improving and reintroducing past models. The reinvented Hanwei focuses primarily on Japanese and Chinese models, including the Performance Series Katana. Many of the original European models are now adopted as part of the Kingston Arms line.

hanwei mokko renshu katana I really like this sword,the handle wrap and the fittings are all tight after lot of cutting.Have cut eight beach mats with large pool noddle inside, about 18″ around also various watter bottles. with no problem.Love the tsuba and the longer tsuka.The blade is thinner but is tempered well and very strong.Over all very nice katana
