Khukuri Special Assamee - Deepeeka
The Assam Khukuri has a blade of high carbon steel which is sturdily riveted and mounted into a hardwood handle and embellished with brass accents. Included with this fighting Kukri dagger is a wooden scabbard which is wrapped in black leather and fitted with a protective brass chape. Included on the scabbard is a removable leather frog with a pair of belt loops on its back for easy wear.

I bought this on sale last year for 30something dollars and was great for that price point, After a quick sharpen it splits kindling pretty well, the handle seems solid and the blade strong. Small hammer marks down the blade makes it look rugged/hand forged. Feels nice in hand swinging, although the deepeeka “regular” kukri at 35$ has a nicer hilt to swing away with. My dog ate the sheath while I was sharpening blade for tests. 5/5 dog toy, 5/5 Kukri for price point although at 51$ i’d have to demote it to 4/5. I’d rather have the “regular” style for tool use and I’d rather have a damascus or a horn grip model for a display piece. It does work nice though, and I am using it as my tool Kukri due to not having a sheath anymore.
