Overview
Knights Collection - Hollow Ground Longsword
This longsword from the Knight's Collection is surprisingly agile for its large and wide 36" long blade due to its hollow ground cross section which effectively removes unneeded weight whilst keeping a strong central ridge and a keen cutting edge on the blade- it is also well tempered to a 52-54 HRc hardness. It is capable of powerful thrusts and sweeping cuts that will cut tatami and bottles with regularity in skilled hands. Ready for use right out of the box, the sword is a great starting point for a beginner or a good selection for a the enthusiast who wants to hone their cutting skills on an economically priced sword that cuts above its price class.
The long grip that is over 9" in length gives impressive cutting leverage and aids in giving the blade a lively balance of only 2.25" above the hilt. The guard and pommel are stainless steel and the wood grip is tightly bound in cord and competed with a center steel ring. The full tang of the blade is peened over the pommel for a solid overall construction. Included is a wooden scabbard which is wrapped in stitched faux leather with etched heraldric embellishment and a stainless steel chape. A sword belt and hangers of matched faux leather completes the sword for a full and ready to use package.

The Maker
Knight's Collection
The knightly spirit of the Middle Ages is within reach and in your hands with the Knight’s Collection series of swords. These are real, durable and battle-ready swords fit for target cutting right out of the box at a great entry price!
Crafted with balance and practical usability in mind, these sharp-edged blades are forged with tempered 1045 or 1060 high carbon steel. Solid, full tang construction makes these practical cutters a fine starting point for a beginner or a great way to pad out a collection for the seasoned tatami-slicing enthusiast.
Often paired together

It’s exactly as advertised. 8.5/10 It’s a great blade with good-ish furniture.
Blade: The factory edge is fine, not razor sharp, and doesn’t cut paper cleanly, for example, but cuts water bottles just fine. Intentional hard pommel strike to test, and found the blade is a little springier than your average blade. There is a prolonged vibration in the pommel end of the handle, but none near the guard. The pommel vibration is not noticed during two-handed use. I only mention the vibration since I didn’t know what to make of it. Handle feels fine, it’s your typical wax cord wrapped overtop the handle. I haven’t checked if the handle is actually wood instead of 3D printed plastic, as some other discount sword manufacturers do. The metal ring is securely in place. Balance is about 2″-ish above the crossguard, verified, feels well-balanced and light in hand. Damacus looks good, and the grind lines are perfect, which is pretty difficult to do with double fullers. Sheath fits perfectly, eventhough it’s the same as ones I’ve seen on TEMU. I plan on upgrading elements of the sword since the blade is 10/10. Wrap the handle with premium leather, sharpen the edge, and reskin the sheath so it won’t be confused with its TEMU brethren.
