Built for speed and efficiency, the PSK (Performance Series Katana) Plus XL Light Katana is optimized for quick draws and repeated cuts on lighter targets. It retains the familiar Practical Plus furniture while incorporating upgraded natural materials in the tsuka. The 29.5″ long blade features the extended XL geometry, now paired with bo-hi (fullers) on both sides to reduce weight and improve handling and speed. The result is a faster, more responsive sword that allows for multiple cuts with less fatigue. Differential hardening yields an edge hardness of approximately HRC 60 and a spine hardness of around HRC 40, balancing sharpness with resilience. Its over 10″ long grip gives plenty of leverage and its wooden tsuka features panels of genuine rayskin which are wrapped tightly with high quality black cotton ito cord. The sword is completed with a wood-core saya scabbard with a black textured lacquer and a sageo cord for wear. Also included is a cloth sword bag for storage and transport.
