Regenyei – Short Feder – Medium Flex

Based on a design by Finnish HEMA champion Eliisa Keskinen, the short Feder is well suited for longsword traditions like those of Fiore dei Liberi that best utilize a shorter blade. Its also well suited to young or smaller practitioners. The blade of the ones we have on offer are with Regenyei's "Medium Feder" flexibility option, which makes it a well-rounded "jack of all trades" Feder striking a good balance between durability, safety flexibility and a pleasant weight and balance for historically accurate fencing. Regenyei describes it as being a good fit for "casual use" and "casual and competitve fencing". On a 10 cm bend, the blade is exerting 11.5 to 13 kg of pressure.

The blade is crafted from 51CrV4 High Carbon Spring Steel which is well tempered to a 49-51 HRc hardness. Despite thick blunt edges for safety and edge durability, the sword is lively and light in the hand and a back rolled tip further increase tip sparring safety. The guard and pommel are heat treated steel and the wooden grip is bound in tight cord for a solid grip.
