Overview
Ronin Katana - Medieval Longsword Euro #24
This elegant and Germanic styled late medieval longsword that will excel in the cut and thrust alike; its diamond cross section blade with a raised cross section to give it a fine balance between rigidity and flex. In the hand it handles responsively and its waisted grip and a grippable spiraled pommel give the bearer an array of gripping points for leverage and control. Although it weights just over 3 lbs, when in motion it feels lighter with its roughly 2" point of balance just above the crossguard. It is a sword that will not just cut tatami and bottles well and decisively, but look particularly fetching on display when not in use with its classic styling befitting the longsword in its heyday.
Forged from 1075 high carbon steel, the 36" long blade is both sharpened and polished to a mirrored sheen. the guard and pommel are well polished stainless steel and the 7 3/8" wooden grip is bound in supple stitched leather. The tang of the blade is mounted to the hilt with a large and solid peen over the pommel. Paired with the sword is a tough wood-core scabbard which is covered in stitched matching leather and finished with a pair of knotted hanging points and a pair of brass buckles.
