Overview
Ronin Katana - Two Handed Longsword with Double Ring Guard - Euro #23
This Double Ring Guard Longsword from Ronin Katana has a very wide blade and sharp blade that will cleanly slice and cut tatami, bottles and more with proficient ease. It has a capable and authoritative heft in the hand without feeling too heavy or unresponsive. Although an impressive cutter, it is an elevated and well-styled late Medieval or early Renaissance sword all on its own and would look fantastic on display when not in use.
The nearly 33 inch long Type XVIIIc blade has a hollow ground cross section to the blade that serves to greatly reduce blade weight to offset its increased width. It also serves to minimize contact and drag as the blade passes into and through a target. The blade itself is forged from 1075 high carbon steel and well tempered for use. The extensive guard and pommel are mirror-polished stainless steel and the 7.5 inch wood grip is finished with a tightly stitched wrap of leather. The tang of the blade is stoutly anchored into the hilt with a shaped peen over the peen block of the pommel. The included scabbard has a core of durable wood and is bound in leather and finished with a stainless steel chape.
