Dragon King - Summer Lotus Katana
The Dragon King Summer Lotus Katana embodies the essence of the summer season with its highly detailed tsuba, fittings and the dark green of the late season on its lacquered saya. The pierced tsuba displays a water garden with a lotus flower and tree and inlaid beneath the knotted grip wrap are a silvered frog and snail menuki to symbolize good fortune and fertility.
The sharp blade is tough, tempered and dependable 5160 high carbon steel which is well suited to rigorous citting practice; the habaki and seppa are silver and the tsuba is blackened stainless steel which is matched with metal fuchi and kashira hilt fittings which are also blackened. The carved wood tsuka grip is inlaid with panels of genuine rayskin which is bound within tight cords of black ito.
The sword comes with a companion saya scabbard carved to fit from wood and finished in textured green lacquer and a black sageo cord. Also included is a cloth sword bag.
