Devil’s Edge – Tactical Egyptian Khopesh – 420 Stainless

This Tactical Khopesh has a blade of 420 stainless steel. The grip halves of carved wood were riveted to the thick tang to create a robust grip. It comes with a scabbard of leather with buttoned retaining straps. It is fitted with a strap of leather that allow the khopesh to be worn on the back.

With its thick spined crescent blade, thick tang and stout grip this Kopesh is clearly inclined to chopping, hacking and slicing with notable decisiveness.

Well built but… This sword is definitely very durable. The only problem with the sheath is it doesn’t let you draw the khopesh from your back, but I figured that before I got it. Also, the blade itself is somewhat unmanageable. It simply doesn’t feel like a sword in my hands. The grip is also large and quite uncomfortable. I wouldn’t want to have to use this for an extended period of time, partly because it uses so much strength just to keep the blade in line. But it looks exquisite and offered tremendous cutting power. It’s worth the money, in my opinion, but you may want to take a different weapon to the battlefield

Nice sword, but could be improved Over all I really like this sword, one needs to remember that this is a chopper, not a sword for fencing and is heavier than it’s bronze age original. The sheath does it’s job of covering the blade but the whole over the shoulder thing is pretty ridiculous as it is with almost any sword. The grip is thick and square but easily fixed in time with a dremel or file and sand paper to soften the edges and give it a nicer feel. For the price I am quite pleased and would say it is a “functional” fantasy piece. Wish there was some info listed on maker and steel.
