The Bertilak Hand and a Half Sword – Romance of Men

The Bertilak Hand and a Half Sword melds the essentials of a late medieval bastard sword with a tasteful touch of fantasy flair to create a uniquely styled blade that not only looks good, but can decisively cut to full ability! Ideally suited for two-handed use, the wide and lenticular 32" blade has the distal taper needed to give it a strong base that thins considerably along the main cutting portion of the blade to to allow it to slice into and pass through a target with minimized drag and resistance. While the sword has the blade geometry and a sharp edge needed to make it an excellent cutter, it also looks great as a display or collection sword and a good choice for either a first sword or one to pad out a developing collection.

Its crossguard and pommel are crafted from stainless steel and they are paired with a tough 6.25" ABS grip that is bound in genuine leather with tightly stitched construction. The tang has been peened over the pommel to stoutly anchor the tang to the hilt and give it a very tough overall construction. Weighing 3 lbs in weight and with a POB beneath 4", the sword finds a good balance between the weight and mass needed for impactful cutting but without the blade becoming heavy and difficult to manage. The sword is a complete package paired with a wood-core scabbard that is bound in genuine leather. Included is a faux leather sword belt in the medieval ring belt style.
