The Windlash Medieval Two-Handed Saber – Romance of Men

Melding aspects of the late medieval longsword, the Swiss Saber and the iconic blade of the Japanese Katana is the Windlash from Romance of Men. When all these influences combine the result is a heavy-spined saber-like blade built for heavy cutting with a hilt designed to give its bearer an impressive amount of leverage and control, even the pommel is in a form eminently suitable for being gripped in multiple ways by the second hand for even more control or velocity on the strike. The sword is a great pick-up for the beginner or advanced collector alike who want the fun of a fantasy sword but with all the practicality of a heavy cutter that will handle the thickest bottles, tatami rolls and bamboo. At 3 lbs 9 oz and with a balance at around 5 inches, the blade brings the mass and forward-weighted momentum needed for heavy cutting.

The over 36 inch blade is forged from high carbon steel which has been polished to a near-mirror finish. The hilt components are cast from polished stainless steel and the nearly 8 inch wooden grip is fashioned from wood with a grip overwrap of very dark blue leather and a wire wrap for its lower half. A peen over the pommel fully secures the tang into the hilt. Included with the sword is a thick hard-core scabbard carved from wood and overlaid in genuine leather with a stitched construction. A faux leather sword belt that can attach to the faux leather sword hangers on the scabbard is also included.
