The Kingston Arms Tourney Viking Sword is purpose-built for stage and sport combat usage; the blunted blade is crafted from tempered 9260 high carbon steel and features edges that are 2 mm thick throughout – it possesses a blade hardness of about 50 HRC. The lenticular cross-section of the blade has a wide and long fuller to reduce much of its weight without sacrificing strength.

For HEMA, this product has been classified as either appropriate for all skill levels or appropriate for those with Advanced Skills. Michael Turner, instructor at Tuathair Academy of Martial Arts, assisted us in categorizing these items for the different skill levels of HEMA participants. These categorizations are meant as guidelines. Please refer to tournament rules for specific competition requirements. For this purpose, we do not include swords that may be used in cutting competitions in the HEMA category.

The pommel and crossguard are of stainless steel and the wooden grip is wrapped in tightly fitted leather. The guard has a hidden steel tab beneath the grip which greatly aids in keeping the guard in place and resistant from loosening over time. The thick tang of blade is given a robust hot-peen over the pommel. The grip is large enough to accommodate a large or well-armoured hand.

The wood-core scabbard is tightly overlaid in leather and finished with a pinnel steel chape.

decent looking sword. a little on the heavy side. blade steel is too soft for reenactment fighting. needs to be touched up with a file regularly.
