This reproduction of the Model 1859 United States Marine Corps NCO Saber faithfully captures the intricate styling of the classic Marine pattern while being built to a far more robust, battle-ready standard than most decorative examples. Rather than using stainless steel, it features a properly tempered high-carbon steel blade and a sturdier hilt assembly designed for durability.
The 28″ blade is hand-forged from high-carbon steel, heat treated for strength, and richly etched with the elegant filigree and scrolling motifs that have adorned Marine NCO sabers since the 1875 regulations. It also follows the slimmer, modern blade profile introduced with the 1918 redesign, giving the saber a more refined appearance and lively handling. Weighing well under two pounds and balanced approximately 5″ forward of the guard, the saber feels quick and responsive in the hand while remaining comfortable to wear for dress or ceremonial occasions.
The guard and hilt furniture are finely cast from solid brass and finished to a bright polish. The grip is wrapped and inlaid with twisted brass wire, providing both a secure hold and the classic look associated with Marine sabers. Completing the piece is a leather-covered, rigid scabbard fitted with matching brass mounts, creating a sword as suitable for presentation, display, ceremony or use.
