Dragon King – War Fire Katana

The Dragon King Warfire Katana embodies the spirit of the Samurai at war; the grim armor-clad Samurai warrior and his powerful warhorse feature heavily on the fittings of this stern, fierce and dignified katana. The blade is hand-forged from 1566 high carbon steel which gives it impressive hardness and wear-resistance. The blade is differentially-tempered in the traditional manner with clay to produce a sword with a genuine and vibrantly visible hamon of flash-hardened 60 HRc steel. The body and spine of the blade are tempered to be softer 40 HRc steel to give the sword the necessary shock absorption needed to ensure that it is durable and resilient to impact.

The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are crafted from blackened and antiqued stainless steel and the habaki and seppa have a silvered finish. On one side the tsuba features a Samurai and his warhorse in detailed relief and its reverse displays a castle engulfed in flames. The wooden tsuka grip has inlaid panels of genuine rayskin which are overlaid in knotted black cotton tsuka ito cord. Highly detailed and dimensional menuki featuring silvered warhorses are carefully fitted and bound beneath the tsuka cords. The sword is paired with a wooden saya scabbard which is finished with a coating of textured black lacquer and a black sageo cord. Included with the sword is a cloth sword bag.
