Grenadier a Cheval Saber - Universal Swords
This French Horse Grenadiers saber has a blade forged from 1060-1065 High Carbon Steel which is etched on both sides. One side bears the title Grenadier a Cheval - the reverse is inscribed with the motto of Louis XIVs horse grenadiers: undique terror undique lethum meaning The Terror on every side, entirely surrounded by death.
This hilt is durably cast from brass and the wooden grip is overlaid in braided brass wire. The companion scabbard is strong leather with a protective brass chape and locket.
