Overview
Viking Bearded Axe - Lord of Battles
This Viking Bearded Axe has a axehead which has been forged by hand from high carbon steel and left with a rough polish for an appropriately period and utilitarian appearance. The axehead has been mounted onto a haft of hardwood.Replacement handles are available separately and can be found with a thumbnail link under the also available section on this page.
Please Note: It is not unusual for the axeheads on traditionally-mounted axes to loosen with use over time. Should your axehead need to be re-seated or remounted you simply need to hold the head in a vise while striking the wider end of the wooden haft with a rubber mallet to drive the head into the tapered haft to re-seat the axehead.

Lord Of Battles
Lord Of Battles offers an ever expanding line of armor and re-enactment gear with an eye towards quality and authenticity. Based in India, these guys have been supplying the European HEMA and re-enactment communities for years through various resellers, but are now taking control of their own brand. Our direct partnership with the factory allows us to offer their products at deep discounts, by cutting out an entire level of markup.

Although one of the least expensive axes, I am quite pleased with this product. It feels good in the hand and will certainly serve my purpose.
As a buckskinner I have used a number of 17th & 18th century reproduction hawks and find this axe to be of similar ilk.
I expect to add leather bands as shown on many Viking examples and will certainly make an axe frog as a variation of one shown among Kult of Athena’s product line. In fact, one such frog is shown holding this axe.
I am pleased I made this purchase.
