Oni Kanabo - European Ashwood - Deepeeka
In Japanese folklore the brutish Oni and other muscled mountain beasts are often depicted with a colossal Kanabo war club and in their bestial hands such a club can in one smash, crush and shatter even the most heavily armored of samurai heroes with a single terrifyingly powerful concussive blow. Burly, intimidating and all-powerful in the strike, a war club such as the one offered here makes it immediately clear why such a weapon is to be dreaded by any foe.
Crafted from robust European Ash hardwood, this Oni Kanabo is festooned with antiqued steel studs and is completed with a spiraled leather grip wrap. The grip is long to give its bearer the leverage needed to deliver armor-crushing impacts and shield-smashing strikes.

Excellent kanabo! Heavy & lots of inertia, but unlike anything else! Very high quality & professionally done. Much better than I was expecting. Color a dark blonde with black & orange texturing on 2.375″ diameter octagonal barrel. Very nice color & finish! I like it much more than the light blonde shown here (but mine photographs light too). Hard to find kanabos; really glad KOA offers a reasonably priced & high quality one. Time to get my Oni on! :-) I have nicknamed it: Oni wan Kanabo. :-)
I have probably a hundred different weapons swords maces polearms ect this thing is probably my favorite to play around with. If your a bigger guy pull the trigger on this thing I’d trade a couple cold steel swords or a hanwei for this no joke.
Absolute beast of a weapon!Large and heavy like it’s supposed to be,Wood is nicely detailed and the studs are not cheap or cheaply integrated into the design and the grip on the handle is great!Would highly recommend this weapon as it is perfect!
Around 47 inches in length, hefty enough that I dare not wield it with just one hand, sturdy wood with genuine steel studs. It’s no wonder that the title “oni” was given to those warriors that used these on the battlefield. I need to go back to the gym before I can wield this without dislocating something!
