Krieger Armory – The Sentinel Fiore R3 Longsword – Brown Grip

For HEMA, this product has been classified as either appropriate for all skill levels or appropriate for those with Advanced Skills. Michael Turner, instructor at Tuathair Academy of Swordsmanship, assisted us in categorizing these items for the different skill levels of HEMA participants. These categorizations are meant as guidelines. Please refer to tournament rules for specific competition requirements. For this purpose, we do not include swords that may be used in cutting competitions in the HEMA category.

This is the latest version (R3) of Krieger Armory's Sentinel Fiore and features a number of improvements requested by HEMA martial artists over older models:

• - Weak half of blade is now slightly slimmer, feels lighter and flexes better
• - Adjusted fuller terminations at tang to improve tang transition stength
• -Adjusted central fuller to be tapered
• -Adjusted side fullers to be wider and terminate in a unique way inspired by type some XXa swords

Krieger Armory's Sentinel Fiore R3 sparring safe longsword features a slightly shorter slender blade that has 3 central fullers. The blade is flexible, forgiving in the thrust and is intended to be used in normal HEMA training and competition. This model was built to serve fencers of the Fiore style, or fencers who prefer a shorter longsword profile. This sword has a narrowing profile taper that ends in our rev. 2 flattened spatulate tip. The edges are smoothly rounded for durability. The crossguard is exceptionally tough having been hardened and double tempered just as the blade. The grip is comfortably waisted and tightly wrapped in cord that is sealed with resin hardener. It provides a slightly aggresive texture to the cord and feels great in and out of gloves.

Krieger Armory swords are well crafted and fully made in the USA. The high quality steel is well-tempered and even the crossguards and pommel are tempered for durability, unlike the mild steel used by the vast majority of other swordmakers. Krieger offers a 1 year zero hassle free warranty a limited lifetime tune-up (transferrable between owners) Meaning that after a full year, Krieger will replace the blade for only a fraction of the cost of a new sword. The original hilt hardware is re-used and paired with a new replacement blade. If needed, a clean up the hilt parts/ re cord wrap will also be done.
