Windlass Battlecry! – Cutlass
Windlass now adds the classic naval cutlass to its Battlecry! line to deliver a practical and attractively priced sword fit for Pirates and Naval boarding parties alike! The blade is crafted from tough and tempered 1065 high carbon steel which is tempered to the low 50s HRc in hardness. The sharpened blade has a thick spine to give it plenty of rigidity and mass to drive powerful cuts and hacks. The blade and guard are treated with a darkened and antiqued finish.
Like the Cutlasses of the Age of Sail, this sword excels in delivering powerful blows in close quarters combat in crowded or confined spaces. While optimized for hard-hitting strikes and chops, its clipped point gives it respectable thrusting ability as well. The sword is made to withstand a great deal of shock and hard hits with its thick, full length tang which is solidly riveted to the end of the grip and the grip itself is reinforced with a triple nut assembly. The grip is darkened wood to match the sleek aesthetic of the sword and included is a sheath of thick and tough leather with a blackened steel chape and a swiveling belt loop. Also included is a manufacturers production certificate.
The basket is attractively decorated with cut-outs. The 1065 high carbon steel has a darkened, battle-hardened finish, so it's well protected from the frequent rust spots and stains that occur so often from everyday practice and exposure to the elements.
The blade has a full tang and is tempered to a low 50s RC. This pre-sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing. The hands-on nature of the manufacturing by master smiths makes this line unique. Includes a top-quality, genuine leather scabbard with metal throat and chape. Scabbard includes attached frog and belt loop.
