This arming sword by Krieger Historical Weapons was crafted in Poland and it is meticulously optimized for HEMA sparring and tournament. It is light in the hand at less than 2 lbs of weight and feels like a natural extension of the arm – a deliberate choice to reduce fatigue and strain in training sessions and to optimize control of the weapon for the duellist. Its rainguard chape at the guard, while giving it an improved historical appearance, can be removed if desired. Whether one is a beginner or experienced practitioner this arming sword is a fine choice for a HEMA workhorse sword.

The almost 29″ blade of 50 HF steel is tempered to a 48-50 HRc hardness and its flex measures at 15 kg on a scale when the Scale Method is used. Its rebated edges give the blade edges essential durability and the tip is rolled for safety. The guard and pommel are fashioned from steel with an antiqued finish and the nearly 4″ synthetic grip imitates the feel of leather whilst being tougher and more resilient for extensive use. A peen over the pommel solidly secures the construction of the hilt and blade.
