This HEMA optimized Sidesword from Krieger Historical Weapons of Poland is inspired from examples from the 16th century cut-and-thrust sideswords and is a deft and lively sword in the hand making it a fine choice for drills, sparring and tournament alike. Great care was taken to achieve a precise balance for the cut, thrust and parry. It weighs not much more than 2 lbs and its balanced at 5 inches above the guard for a sword that is responsive and not tiresome to wield in long training sessions.

Flexible with a rating of 9.5 kg of flex when measured with the Scale Method, the 37 inch blade is well tempered 50 HF steel with a tempered hardness of 48-50 HRc. It has a rolled tip for safety and rebated edges for durability. The hilt with its antiqued guard and pommel is built to accommodate multiple grip styles and the blade at the ricasso has a notch for above-guard finger placement. The grip of the sword is made from a tough synthetic with an appearance and feel like leather. A peen over the pommel secures the entire sword for a lasting construction.
