Overview
Krieger Historical Weapons - HEMA F2 Federschwert
This uniquely gorgeous Feder from Krieger Historical Weapons of Poland is a fantastic and innovative trainer that performs we well as it looks. What immediately stands out is the embossed "leather" and rainguard - features rarely seem on Federschwert but common to finely crafted swords of the late medieval period. They may look like premium leather, but Krieger put a great deal of thought and work into making them instead from a tough synthetic material that is very tough and according to Krieger is "completely indestructible and non-slip in wet conditions". If desired, the rain guard can be removed without the need to dismantle the sword.
The 39 inch blade is fitted with a spatulate shaped tip and has a flex rating of 14-15 kg. Crafted from 50 HF steel it is tempered to a hardness of 48-50 HRc for a good balance of toughness and flex. The guard and pommel are lightly antiqued in both hue and texture for a fine finish to match the simulated leather of the hilt. A solid and well-shaped peen over the pommel give the sword a very strong and lasting construction.

The Maker
Krieger Historical Weapons
Krieger Historical Weapons was founded in Poland by a group of archeology enthusiasts and historical fencers. Their historical knowledge has allowed them to produce replicas of ancient weapons with a very high level of historical reliability. With an ever growing reputation for quality and reliability, the swords of Krieger Historical Weapons continue to impress beginning and experienced HEMA practitioners alike.Â
In recent years Krieger has focused on meeting the specific needs of the Historical Martial Arts community, which is looking for weapons that are both historically accurate and capable of withstanding intense combat while reducing blade wear and the risk of injury. Equally important are the recipients of historical replicas, for whom we take care of every detail, trying to provide the widest offer tailored to every taste.
Krieger has developed real technological innovations that take advantage of modern material improvements, such as an indestructible synthetic grip or unique blade processing, which make their weapons exceptionally resistant to time and very pleasant to use. Aesthetics and design are equally important, which is why they ensure that each product is of the highest standard.
