14th Century Great Helm - 16 Gauge - Lord of Battles
This 14th Century Great Helm is crafted from stoutly riveted plates of 16 gauge steel; the riveted ocular cross is of brass. The helm is blackened on the inside and fitted with an integrated leather suspension liner that can be adjusted to size to optimize the fit of the helm. This helmet is heavy duty for sure! If you plan on buying it for cosplay it’s pretty heavy. I wouldn’t doubt that this is meant for HEMA or full contact martial arts. I bought this because after getting crappy rusty helmets off amazon I wanted something nice and well made. This is it but I am willing to bet I won’t be able to wear this thing for hours on end at a ren fair without feeling sore the next day.
Fits well with padding, it is a heavy, but protective helmet, it might strain your neck to wear for a while but it will keep your head from being knocked around. Also has great visuals with long eye slits for fantastic peripheral view. (this helmet also has just enough room to fit over glasses, so all around it’s a really good helmet)
