Austrian Model 1861 Infantry Officer's Saber - Universal Swords
The Austrian Model 1861 saber was the sword used by the Austro-Hungarian Army in WW1 and it continues to be the pattern used for the modern dress saber of Austria. This reproduction of the Austrian M1861 Infantry Officer's sword by Universal Swords pays close attention to dimensional accuracy with measurements taken from a historical original. The blade is forged from tempered 1065 high carbon steel and is 32" in length. The guard and hilt components are nickel-plated steel and the grip is tough ABS with a tight wrap of leather which was completed with braided and inlaid nickel-plated brass wire. The scabbard is nickel-plated steel to match the hilt.
