EGKH – Nepal Khukuri with Hand-Etched Blade

This finely crafted khukuri is in itself a showcase of traditional Nepalese craftsmanship and pays homage to the land that is home to the famed Gurkha warriors. Forged in Nepal by EGKH, it features a tempered 12-inch blade of 5160 high carbon steel which is gorgeously and painstakingly embellished on both sides with hand-etched Nepalese design. Not merely a particularly beautiful example of the traditional Khukuri of Nepal, it was made to the same functional standards and quality EGKH gives to its other fully-functional and battle-ready Khukuri fighting blades. Its an ideal piece to center a collection, or a fine addition for an enthusiast who wants a fine piece of traditional, time-honored generational craftsmanship in a modern world where stale and machined uniformity is the standard for most products.

Tough and dependable, this Khukuri with its distinctive, thick blade spine imparts both resilience and cutting power. Weighing a bit more than a pound and with point of balance about 2.75 inches above the bolster it is both authoritative and agile in the hand. The hilt has a grip of well polished buffalo horn with a brass bolster and matching brass pommel plate. Its scabbard is carved from wood, wrapped in stitched leather, and finished with a metal chape and belt loop and leather detailing. Included as well are the traditional companion tools: the Karda utility knife and the Chakmak sharpening tool, both integral components of the classic khukuri kit, as well as a suite of other hand tools. Each one has its own slot in the scabbard.
